ICHTHOPASTE Bandage

Aids the healing of venous leg ulcers and associated skin conditions

Containing 6.32% zinc oxide and 2% ichthammol, ICHTHOPASTE Bandage is suitable for use in adults and children. It provides a versatile topical treatment to support the healing of venous leg ulcers and for managing a myriad of dermatological conditions. Ichthammol is oil based, which helps to treat chronic wet and itchy eczema, chronic venous eczema, dermatitis and chronic lichenified conditions of the skin such as hyperkeratosis(1).

  • 6.32% Zinc Oxide and 2% ichthammol formulation
  • Single-use, non-elastic cotton bandage
  • Suitable for use as the primary contact layer
  • Anti-fungal
  • Helps manage skin hydration
  • Highly conformable to all leg shapes

ICHTHOPASTE provides a protective oil layer on the skin to help prevent excess trans-epidermal water loss, maintain skin hydration, and reduce the hardening and thickening of the skin(2).

When combined with zinc oxide, ICHTHOPASTE supports a moist wound-healing environment, while its anti-pruritic and anti-fungal properties help break the itch-scratch cycle often experienced in the management of psoriasis and eczematous dermatitis, and other dermatoses(3).

ICHTHOPASTE bandage contains no elastic fibres and does not stretch, so it must be applied as directed(2). It can be used as a primary contact layer over the wound or skin condition and should be covered with a retention bandage or, if appropriate, a compression therapy system**.
